Parents,
We started creating the first stages of our Octopuses and Squids! Although it was messy, we had a fun time. Tomorrow, we will be dissecting squid and octopuses. Please send your child to school with some plastic gloves. I will be going to Walmart tonight to pick up some, but I have 55 students who will be participating and I would like to make sure that I have enough.
Progress reports will be going home tomorrow. AR deadline is October 19. Please send in T-shirt money as soon as possible. This will allow your child to wear a special shirt on our 5th grade trips.
We I find out more about the Washington trip, I will let you know.
Please make sure your child studies for the spelling, vocabulary, and the Character's Motives test.
We forgot to wish Teaira Smith a Happy Birthday Today!!!!!Happy Birthday!!!!!

Weekend News
Hello Parents,
It is Friday!!! The students did such a great job putting together their aquariums and terrariums for their little critters. As I am typing this letter, two crickets have escaped and one made his way into the aquarium. All of the mosquito fish just looked at the helpless cricket as his head was just above the water level. But, thankfully my children were here to save him!
Make sure you take a look at the vocabulary and spelling words for next week. There will be a test on Ecosystems on Tuesday. I encourage the students to bring home their science notebook so that they will have the best advantage in getting high marks on the test.
Please bring in empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls for we will be making squid and octopuses next week. Someone told me that we may have a special visit from real live octopuses and squid!!! Hummmm.. I guess we will see what may happen!!!!
Progress reports go out next Friday and graded work goes home on Monday.
Please make sure you send back the weekly progress report next week if your child receives one. This is my way of making sure that you know how your child is doing in my class academically and behaviorally.
Finally, we need more snacks. Mrs. Strickland was kind enough to send snacks two weeks ago, but they have run out. If you have time and or money :), please send in a few snacks for some needy children. I thank you for being a partner with my in helping your child succeed in school.
